Prerequisites:

Zaključen študij druge stopnje ustrezne (naravoslovne ali tehniške) smeri ali zaključen študij drugih smeri z dokazanim poznavanjem osnov področja predmeta (pisna dokazila, pogovor).

Completed second level studies in natural sciences or engineering or completed second level studies in other fields with proven knowledge of fundamentals in the field of this course (certificates, interview).

Vsebina:
Content (Syllabus outline):

- Teoretične osnove izbirnih poglavij biotehnologije
- Specialna področja biotehnologije, kot so področje rastlinskih tkivnih kultur, gensko spremenjenih organizmov, gensko zdravljenje, biologija, epidemiologija in diagnostika mikroorganizmov, okolju prijazne metode eliminacije mikroorganizmov, presoje tveganj itd.
- Delo na primerih

- Theoretical basis of selected topics on biotechnology
- Special fields of biotechnology, like plant tissue cultures, genetically modified organisms, gene therapy, detection of microorganisms, risk assessment etc.
- Case studies

Znanje in razumevanje:
Samostojno reševanje problemov, povezanih s tematiko predmeta, kar vključuje:
- načrtovanje pristopa dela,
- povezovanje različnih pristopov raziskovanja, povezanih z biotehnologijo,
- vrednotenje dobljenih rezultatov,
- povezovanje pridobljenega znanja z delom na doktorskem delu.

Knowledge and understanding:
Independent problem solving in case studies relating to the topics of the course, by planning appropriate work approaches, connecting different research approaches, evaluation of results and by implementation of knowledge from work on PhD thesis.

- Povezovanje izbranega področja biotehnologije neposredno z vsebino doktorske naloge

Knowledge on the selected field of biotechnology based on specific cases related to directions of student's PhD thesis.

Learning and teaching methods:

V okviru predavanj, ki bodo potekala interaktivno v povezavi profesor- študent, bo poudarek na diskusiji predpripravljenih tematik ter samostojnem delu študenta.

Emphasis will be on interaction between professor and student(s) through lectures, which will be based on discussions on pre-prepared topics and student individual work.
