Cilji in kompetence:
Objectives and competences:

Glavni cilj predmeta je študente seznaniti s splošnim konceptom vključevanja javnosti v okoljske raziskave, po načelih OZ, s poudarkom na raziskavah okoljskega zdravja in epidemiologije. Pri tem bodo študenti spoznali multidisciplinarnost tovrstnih pristopov, na stičišču naravoslovja in humanistike ter priložnosti in izzive le-teh (metodološke, tehnološke, etične itd.). Opremljeni bodo s konkretnim znanjem in orodji za izvajanje in ocenjevanje različnih participativnih aktivnosti.

The main objective of the course is to introduce students to the overall concept of involving the general public in environmental science research, following the principles of CS, with a focus on research in environmental health and epidemiology. In doing so, students will learn about the multi-disciplinary nature of such approaches, at the interface between the natural sciences and the humanities, and the respective opportunities and challenges (methodological, technological, ethical, etc.). They will be equipped with concrete knowledge and tools to perform and assess various participatory activities.

Predvideni študijski rezultati:
Intendeded learning outcomes:

- Razumevanje splošnih konceptov in načel OZ.
- Razumevanje priložnosti in omejitev uporabe OZ v okoljskih zdravstvenih študijah.
Študenti, ki bodo uspešno zaključili predmet, bodo pridobili veščine in znanje za načrtovanje vseh faz in vidikov projektov OZ, sodelovanje s skupnostmi in na ta način reševanje realnih okoljsko-zdravstvenih izzivov.

- Understanding of general concepts and principles of CS.
- Understanding of opportunities as well as limitations of the application of CS activities in environmental health studies.
Students successfully completing this course will acquire skills and knowledge to design all phases and aspects of CS projects, engage with communities, and in this way address real-world environmental health challenges.
