PROACT-STEM PUŠ
Strengthening proactive competences of STEM students to foster sustainable innovation in working environment.
Strengthening proactive competences of STEM students to foster sustainable innovation in working environment.
The IPS is implementing the Proact-STEM project under the call for proposals Problem-based learning for students in the working environment: economy, non-economy and non-profit sector in the local/regional environment 2024-2027 (PUŠ to the working environment 2024-2027), co-funded by the European Union from the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+). Within this operation, two key projects are being implemented at the IPS to support sustainable innovation in the working environment. The projects are implemented in cooperation with partners TEMIDA and MIITR.
Project 1: Online platform for the development of sustainable innovation competences in an entrepreneurial working environment
This project focuses on the development and implementation of an online platform to monitor the development of sustainable entrepreneurial competences among students. Students will actively participate in the development of the platform, the design of the user interface and the integration of sustainability metrics and tools together with their working and pedagogical mentors. The platform will allow tracking students' progress in the development of sustainability competences, testing functionality and analysing user data, which will contribute to improving the user experience. The project will also include the development of functionality for user-friendly graphical visualisation of progress in competency development and e-assistance in advising students on educational and career development, which will allow tailoring learning pathways according to specific industries. The pilot implementation will take place in the academic year 2024/2025 at a workshop organised by the project.
Project 2: Green steps in sustainable entrepreneurship innovation for STEM students
The project focuses on analysing the knowledge of sustainable entrepreneurship innovation among STEM students and developing their competences in this field. Students will prepare questionnaires to analyse the current state of needs of STEM students, on the basis of which they will organise a workshop. The workshop will develop competences for sustainable innovation, such as the development of sustainable technologies, optimisation of production processes, green certification and the development of circular business models. Students will create three online nano learning units to promote sustainable practices on social networks, which will allow the dissemination of knowledge on sustainable innovation. The results of the questionnaires will also be integrated into the application developed in project 1, allowing personalisation of the learning pathways and customisation according to the specific needs of students and industry.
Through these projects, the IPS is actively contributing to the green transition and the development of a circular economy through education, practical experience and research, which will help to make students more prepared for future sustainability challenges in the working environment.
