Defence of the Doctoral Dissertation by Ana Kraš

IPS invites you to the Defence of the Doctoral Dissertation by Ana Kraš titled: Deposition and protection mechanisms of zirconium conversion coatings on aluminium alloy, steel and zinc substrates. The defence will take place on Thursday, 20 June 2024, at 9:00 a.m. at the B220 Lecture Room, Jožef Stefan Institute, Jamova cesta 39, Ljubljana.

Short summary:

The formation and corrosion protection mechanisms of environmentally friendly zirconium conversion coatings on steel, aluminium alloy, and zinc were studied. Thermodynamic calculations guided the selection of optimal conditions for the conversion bath, which were further examined using statistical tools to assess the effects of deposition parameters on the corrosion resistance of the prepared coatings. Research findings obtained are an essential basis for further transfer to industrial applications.
