Short summary:
This study examines the interactions between microplastics from agricultural mulch films and pesticides, highlighting their sorption/desorption processes and nanoplastic bioaccumulation in plants. It shows that microplastics and mulch films interact with pesticide residues in an agricultural setting, with biodegradable plastics exhibiting higher retention rates. Nanoplastics effectively accumulated ans translocated within plant tissues and were detected across all plant parts, affecting plant health at high concentrations.
