IPS invites you to the Defence of the Doctoral Dissertation by Maida Jusović titled: Interplay between autophagy and lipid droplets in starving cancer cells. The defence will take place on Wednesday, 29 May 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the IPS Lecture Room, Jamova 39, 1000 Ljubljana.

Short summary:

The main aim of this dissertation was to investigate the links between fat metabolism and autophagy in cancer cells. We discovered key molecular targets linking the two processes and successfully inhibited cancer cell growth by combined inhibition of autophagy and lipid droplet biosynthesis.
