IPS invites you to the Defence of the Doctoral Dissertation by Martin Brešar titled: Numerical Methods for Directional Coupling Detection from Time Series of Complex Systems. The defence will take place on Tuesday, 15 October 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the IPS Lecture Room, Jamova 39, 1000 Ljubljana. You can also join the defence via the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89991258899?pwd=Vq5SxLBq4ExaWe9Eao3rTjv1haWo8Q.1, Meeting ID: 899 9125 8899, Passcode: 311517.
Short summary:
Complex systems found in nature consist of many interacting components. The interactions between these components are characterized by their direction and strength. This dissertation advances certain numerical methods for detecting these interactions from system measurements and presents applications to measured physiological data.
