On behalf of the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School (IPS) and the Jožef Stefan Institute (JSI), we would like to express our gratitude for the visit of Ambassador of India, her excellency Ms. Namrata S. Kumar, on June 27, 2023. The meeting took place at the Department of Environmental Sciences at the Reactor Center, with the purpose of exploring potential future collaboration between IPS, JSI, and India.
During the meeting, Professor Dr. Milena Horvat, IPS Dean, Professor. Dr. Aleksander Zidanšek, IPS Vice-Dean, and Professor Dr. Boštjan Zalar, JSI Director, had the opportunity to present the work carried out by IPS, JSI, and the Department of Environmental Sciences in connection to the Indian initiative called LiFE. LiFE aims to bring individual behaviors to the forefront of the global climate action narrative. It seeks to transition from a 'use-and-dispose' economy to a circular economy, emphasizing mindful and deliberate utilization. By encouraging simple acts in daily lives that contribute to climate change mitigation, LiFE envisions significant positive impact when embraced worldwide.
Given the alignment between LiFE and the activities of JSI and IPS, it was mutually agreed to organize an event in January 2024 at JSI. The preparations for this event will commence promptly, and we anticipate a fruitful exchange of ideas and experiences.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Indian Ambassador for her visit and genuine interest in future cooperation. We look forward to fostering a strong partnership and working together towards a sustainable and resilient future.
