In December 2023, I did an Erasmus+ traineeship at the University of Newcastle in Australia. My work there has been focused on working on an ongoing project, where the aim is to demonstrate that online grocery stores design can be used to nudge healthy and sustainable food choices. Namely, with many food choices now being made in digital environments, such as online grocery shops, we need to learn more about how nudges in these environments work, what nudges are the most effective and how they can be used ethically and responsibly.
During my stay, I had the opportunity to work with an international multidisciplinary team of nutritionists, food scientists, computer scientists and behavioural scientists to achieve the aims of the traineeship. I also had the chance to connect with several research leaders in Food, Nutrition and Behavioural Science community.
This has already been my second Erasmus+ traineeship, and I would like to express my gratitude for the opportunity and the financial support which contributed significantly to this amazing experience ‘Down Under’.
Not only did I improve my professional skills during the traineeship, I also had the opportunity to live in a country where I could explore the wonderful nature, unique animals, different cultures, and work with researchers from all around the world.
